CanPowerSkate Initiation is geared toward hockey/ringette players in their first few years of skating. Generally for hockey levels Timbits - Novice and Ringette Active Start - U10-Step 1.
This program teaches basic skating fundamentals in a power specific environment. The Initiation program is excellent for skaters wanting to develop proper forward, backward, and stopping techniques, as well as start incorporating some agility.
Skaters at this level must have completed at least one year of hockey/ringette or a CanSkate 2 badge. Skaters in a 10 week program will receive an assessment at the end of the season.
Please Note:
- CSA approved helmet with Cage and hockey/ringette sticks are mandatory
-Hockey/Ringette Body equipment is mandatory
-Water bottle is required
-All skaters and parents must adhere to the ASC Code of Conduct

Canpower intermediate

CanPowerSkate Intermediate focuses on three fundamental areas of skating: Balance, Agility, Control. Recognizing that skating is a foundational skill for hockey and ringette, this program allows the opportunity to focus on skating outside of a game or practice.
The program allows flexibility for individual skater progression in a group learning format. Skills will be taught to the skaters ability with many opportunities for increased intensity and challenges. Teaching and developing proper skating technique is the main focus of this program.
This program is ideal for:
Hockey Level - U11 / Novice travel and up
Ringette Level - U10-Step 2/3 and up
Skaters in a 10 week program will receive an assessment at the end of the season. Assessments are based on a continuum of development that will indicate whether skills are at an early, moderate, or advanced stage of development.
Please Note:
- Full Hockey/Ringette equipment with stick is mandatory
-Water bottle is required
-All skaters and parents must adhere to the ASC Code of Conduct

August power Camp
August 2023

On-ice conditioning designed to prepare hockey/ringette players for tryouts and the upcoming season. Focuses include edgework, crossovers, proper stance, and stride technique. Daily speed, agility, and acceleration components will challenge players and ease the transition back into training mode.

CanPowerSkate Advanced is a high calibre, action-packed, and high energy skating program geared to hockey and ringette players that focuses on power, agility, speed, and endurance.
Skills, techniques, and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format with emphasis on the skills can apply in a game situation.
CanPowerSkate Advanced is an excellent addition for competitive ringette and hockey players to increase their skill set. This session incorporates agility drills and skaters who can confidently skate forward AND backward with crossovers in all directions will benefit the most from this session.
This program is ideal for:
Hockey Level - Atom travel and up
Ringette Level - U12 and up
It is at the discretion of the coach whether your skater qualifies for this session.
