LEARN-TO-SKATE
Learn-To-Skate is for ages 3 (as of October 1, 2010 for the fall session and Jan. 1, 2011 for the winter session - no exceptions) to 7 years with little or no skating experience. This is the entry-level program for skating as it introduces children to basic skating movements on ice. They will learn gliding, stopping, turning, etc. The children will progress in a fun, friendly, high-energy environment.
Coaches will recommend when the skater is ready to move to the next level. Skaters must pass CanSkate Stages 1 & 2 before moving up.
Classes run:
Mon, Oct. 4, 2010 to Wed., Dec. 8, 2010
and/or
(Winter Session)
Mon, Jan. 3, 2011 to Wed., Mar. 9, 2011
Classes are offered:
Mondays 5:30-6:00 p.m. or 6:15-6:45 p.m. and/or Wednesdays 5:30-6:00 p.m. or 6:15-6:45 p.m.

PRE-HOCKEY (coach recommended program)
Must be at least 3 years of age as of October 1, 2010. This is a coach-recommended program (skaters typically start in the LTS program first and usually have 1 year of skating experience before moving up to Pre-Hockey).
Designed to help skaters develop balance, power & endurance from basic skating skills already learned in LTS. Skaters are still considered a part of the Learn-to-skate program (skaters continue to earn badges in this program).
Along with basic skating skills, hockey skills are also integrated.Skaters will be allowed sticks (full equipment is optional). Small scrimmage at the end of some sessions.
